Hello there...

Hey guys...

I am about to start up a rather unusual build for me...haven't done a car since I was 8 or so...but my brother-in-law works for Pfizer and he and his wife have really been getting into NASCAR...and they love Mark Martin- so I am going to surprise them with this kit I just picked up:

I just got the kit today from an ebay auction I won and I already have a question. In the final assemble and painting section-- the directions indicate painting the car mostly black, but with steel and red on the lower parts of the body. Now-- I may be dense at times- but all I see in that pic is black, blue, and white!! I was hoping one of you in the know could help me with the paint references on this one-- as in--

1. What types of paint are best for using on NASCAR cars?

2. What colors should I get for this one?

3. Any other advice for a guy who had mainly aircraft in his repertoire?

Hi!
I don't know exatcly what hue you should get for this one, but a good source in the US is MCW. They have almost any colour you need for a replica car but wont ship outside the US due to restrictions.

Michael - I am not a car person either but MM just came out with a whole line of lacquers with a high gloss clear coat for cars... I saw them at Hobby Lobby but your LHS should be able to get them if they don't already...
