When painting metal the preperation and primer are most important. The surface has to be well washed and and etch type primer is best to start with so it keys into the surface. I usually use automotive, or ordinary Tamiya spray can top coat paint on metal with no problems at all but generally I always use an automotive primer/undercoat.
