                        Hey,

                        Just got Tamiya's New Beetle, but I want to know if I can convert it to a convertible if that's possible.....Thanks for the inputs all...

                        Good day, I know this post is from a while but did you ever convert your new Beetle? I am taking this build on in an attempt to recreate my very own VW New Beetle (2006), and can't seem to find anyone that was successful with this kit. Thanks.

                        I think I am going to be one of the first! I had an insider attend a local show this weekend (Baycon in MA) asking around and all the responses were -- do it...and let us know about your after market products. I'll have a good amount of scratch building to do. I suspect the whole inside roof mounting where the top latches will have to be constructed along with the top itself. Wish me luck bring my New Beetle "Moonsong" to life via plastic (he, he, he)!
