I would like to get hold of brake discs, chain, etc. or the like for 1/9th scale.
Any help or tips much appreciated (especially the chain as I want it to move).

Thanks loads.

Don't know how much help this wil be but...

I was in WalMart the other day and they had some new motorcycle kits on the shelf. Pre-painted, metal/plastic kits of motocross bikes. They were fairly large scale and may have been 1/9. I didn't look that closely but did notice there was a real chain in the kit so there'd be sprockets, rotors and stuff too.

If I make it back over there in the next couple days I'll take another look and give you an update if you'd like.

Browner,
There's a photoetching company that we use here at work who could supply the cages for a roller chain - but it would understandably involve a lot of pieces and would be pretty tedious to build, but I can see no reason why it couldn't be made to function.................
If you can send me details of the dimensions you need, I can create the artwork needed for them to quote on the job.
I'll need several things - an accurate outside diameter for both the chain wheel and countershaft sprocket, the number of proposed teeth on each, and a fairly accurate distance between the centres of both (the distance between the centre of the sprocket on the engine and the centre of the sprocket on the rear tire). With this data, I can guage the needed dimensions for the rollers and the outer cages - better yet, if you can send me the chain wheel and countershaft sprocket, I can get it done.
Remember, the more accurate your measurements, the easier it will be to get an accurate costing for the job.
I can also create artwork for you for the brake rotors - I've got a great idea for ventilated disks that would look great....
Email me using the link below, and we can get this moving - I can send you a drawing of what I have in mind.
Cheers
