Cheers for the advice and info. Like I said I just like clean fresh models without all the stuff covering them, like they used to be at the factory, I mean personally I would love to have a rally Subaru one day but I'd hate to be a moving advertisement lol.

whether you like it or not, all it comes down to is still your personal preference. some people like to collect something that the whole world was once watching, while others regard stickers and extra emblems as "RICERS" <--- at least for Japanese cars like the 108HP honda civics. If your kit is for a rally subaru then might as well build it into what it represents, a 4 cylinder turbo charged beast with a whole line of sponsors behind it. Otherwise, I think tamiya makes the oval headlamp 02 WRX STi in production version, and the same goes for Fujimi for the 04-05 WRX STi's. Wouldn't hurt to go with either of those kits.

Have you seen the Chevrolet products on the streets with the #3 (Dale Earnhard) on them. Joe six pack is living out his fantasy. He spends most of his paycheck on the NASCAR emblemed car, and the leather jacket to match, instead of getting his teeth fixed or getting his GED. The wealthy folks who buy the real thing are no different, but they are better educated and convince themselves that it is an investment.

People are stimulated by thinking that they are driving a copy of a winning product. Little do they know that the real race cars are no where near the same as the cars on the street. The logos on the race cars are there to advertise for the cars sponsor. The sponsor knows that the winning car and all of its sponsors will be associated with the winner. The aforementioned idiots will want to use the sponsors products so he can once again associate himself with being a winner. More power to him if that is all he has in his pathetic life!

Sorry for the rant, but you asked. I own a Shelby and I am very tired of these idiots trying to goad me into a street race any time I take the car out. I removed all of the logos and retro fitted the car for street use a long time ago. I loved SCCA racing but without big time sponsors (spelled MONEY) the costs are prohibitive. To win it takes money, big money.

As for your project, if you like factory fresh paint scheems, with no sponsor's logos, go for it. I like them neat and clean also. I cannot wait to do a new Mustang in a factory OEM paint scheem, i.e. no logos if they are not part of the original factory vehicle.

I'm still thinking about whether or not I want a new Mustang, a real one, in white and (Shelby) Santa Fe blue stripes remniscent of the Shelby GT 350s. I'll see what the model looks like and If I like it I'll think some more about the real thing (with no extra logos). Cheers and happy modeling.

I was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on how you put it, bare model cars. As in what the public gets. A public Subaru which you or I could buy does not have all the stripes and fancy logos and advertising covering its body but the rally versions do. Now what I was wondering is that, in the last so years very rich people have been buying pro rally cars because of like the powerful engines, unique lighting and body design plus interior, of course without the advertising and fancy work. Just the emblem on the bonnet and boot, or logo on the grill, sometimes the cars name signature very small on the side. All I'm wondering is if this would look good in model form for my Tamiya cars I'm getting/building. I mean I personally like a bare car with one striking colour, giving a somewhat elegant, sophisticated feel of power. Anyway I would like to hear you're thoughts.
