The turbo and air intake systems are now completed. Next up is the transmission, rear suspension and rear wing assembly.

I'm speechless. What did you use to paint that? Would you like to wire and detail the engine in my upcoming BMW FW24?

I'm beginning to think that you are showing us pictures of the actual car. :P

Is this thing actually going to run when you're done with it? It looks that good...

Ryan - there really isn't a too much paint involved at this point. The compression and pipe fittings are done in Tamiya Red (X-7) and Metallic Blue (X-13). I've also used Gun Metal, Light Gun Metal and Model Master Aluminum, Titanium and Magnesium Metalizers sprays.

More than painting, I've used a number of different techniques to finish/polish the metal surfaces (everyting is metal - there is no plastic in this engine). Some pieces are acid dipped, others are sanded and still other pieces get buffed to a high shine using a jewelers wheel. As everyting is metal, the key for me is to surface treat the metal correctly so the right parts look all beat up or nice and clean as the case may be.

Fizz - Thanks for the compliment but, no, it won't run. The steering, suspension and all engine components will work, but not under their own power.

Vapo - I hear that a lot lately.

You are a son-of-a-female-dog. That detail is amazing.
