chaparral meets 360 modena, progress update...(12/16 pix at end of thread)

ok, folks...
i was going 4 a nice relaxed OOB build over last weekend,
had this kit all ready 2 go... then i came up w/ a crazy plan
2 combine it w/ another kit w/ a similar layout, & add a few little
details here & there...
please don't hate me for making a retro-mod of this texas classic !
i LOVE the Chaparral, just want 2 try & see what a 21st century
version mite look like...

Thumbs Up [tup] Hey there Frosty - I didn't know that you ventured outside of the aircraft section! Nice work on the conversion. Remember always to Chevy engines as friends don't let friends drive Fords. I really like the scratchbuilt suspension.

Cheers,

Eric

Flippersdad:

actually i have been frequenting the armor forum 4 a few years now, altho' i haven't posted

much there l8ly, been too busy building wwi a/c ! so i've been posting on the aircraft forum

4 about a year, & just started 2 post in auto forum, but the first kits i built when i was a little

kid were all cars, so i guess i'm back 2 the beginning, so 2 speak...

thanx 4 the kind words. i had originally planned 2 use a 327 chevy engine just like the real

thing, but i couldn't find any pix of the inside of the car, so i decided 2 do a retro mod instead.

glad u like it !

as 4 me, i don't drive a ford, or a chevy... i'm fonda hondas, LOL !

& Happy Thanksgiving, everybody !

Coming right along.  Hey ... here's a tip for some realism.  Take a fine grit of Emory cloth (wetsand) and scuff the tread on the tires so they look like it's been driven some.

BTW - I'm starting a Camaro kit because I just bought a '93 Camaro to drive so my Vette can rest.  It's all black, inside and out, so painting it will be a slam-dunk .... LOL!
