The Countach was surely the most popular italian sports car subject ever made in plastic kit, Japanese model co made a tons of kits of this late 70's 80's icon
Since I made many here's the best ones I recommend:
Otaki made a fantastic kit back in the late 70's in 1/12 scale of the first countach ever the LP400 1974-77 a second kit was also available the 1975 Wolf LP500S special with fender flares, spoilers, low profile tires ( this version represent the real LP500S made for canadian oilman walter Wolf made by request by lamborghini). these kits have over 450 parts, opening doors,bonnets, sterrable wheels, working suspensions, super detail engine (125 parts!!!), the assemblies and fitting are pretty good & the level of detail is far out, superb kit.
Since the late 80's Doyusha is now the owner of the molds. a 1/20 series of the cars was also made but these are pretty simplistic since they are curbside motorized kits.
As mention earlier Fujimi made a stable of countach kit in the 80's, the Enthusaist Model series,launched in the mid 80's was surely the best 1/24 Countach kit ever, from the LP400, LP500S to the 5000S of the 80's many version where made: opening doors & bonnets, detail frame & engine, really nice kit, the assemblies goes well for a kit with over 200 parts in 1/24, the best kit for the money in 1/24. Fujimi also made the Countach in various versions in 1/16 scale scale again with the same features as the 1/24 EM series, approx 250 parts, these 1/16 are also nice a can be bought at cheap price on eBay, a 1/20 scale was made nice but basic curside kit,, a few contach kit where also available in Fujimi Curbside kit series in 1/24, thes are really nice & easy to assemble.
Not bad kits of the Countach kits are the Tamiya & Tokyo Marui Curside 1/24 kits of the 70's & the Italeri detailed 5000S of the 80's.
Many others where made but the lack of accuracy & details are not worth mentoning.
