Very nice. I love that color. The seats look awsome. I am working on the Porsche GT3. I think the only reason I bought it was cause the seats look so awsome? Oh well, its still a great kit! Nice job.

Niclas,

Very nice kit! Do you have any pics of the engine bay? I thought the Carerra GT was a full view car.

Nice job!

Looks very nice. How long did you spend on it and what paints did you use?

Thank you guys!

To answer some of the questions, the model comes from Tamiya and is beside their Enzo one of the most impressive models I've ever seen! Very well engineered and easy to build. I spent the good part of a month on it and that's a kind of speed record for me that have some builds going on since about ten years ago.

Body painted all out with Tamiya spray cans with the addition of Wave's white/white pearl powder in the first clear coats.

Sanded, polished and waxed with a worn wet and dry 1200 grit sand paper, Meguiar's Deep Crystal polish step 2 and Deep Crystal carnauba wax step 3 and that's about it to get this finish. Not perfect, but good enough for my collection. With some more work it could get like a mirror but enough is enough I think, don't want to risk rubbing through the clear coats as I would have to strip it and start all over again in that case.

Interior is painted according to the instruction, mixed the paint as it said and shoot it through my airbrush.

The only modification I did was to widen the track width 2,4 mm both front and rear. Saw this trick at Automotive Forums and when I checked my referense the wheels sits a tad to deep under the fenders. Just cut out four washers from styrene and put them on the axles before pushing on the wheels.

I'll try to get some pics of the engine bay asap, that is also box stock but I did try to make the exhaust look a bit worn and heat staind with Tamiya clear orange and blue, a first for me.

Well that about sums it up

Niclas

Edit: more pics added, the engine bay amongst others. Just follow the link in my first post.

Looks like crap .... HA!   Psyche!  Actually I think it's an awesome build, but thought I'd help you get over the lavish praise you get because the build deserves it.  Kind of a Yin/Yan thing .....

Seriously ... what isn't to like on this one?  Casting seams are non-existant, paint is smooth and shiny, interior details are to die for ... excellent use of color and perfectly applied ... and there's no sign of glue or fingerprints anywhere.  Looks like a real car to me.  My hat is off to you ...

Life is tough. Then you die.
