Opening car doors
Posted by capt368 on Saturday, November 12, 2005 6:27 PM

I have had a real problem trying to open drivers door on a Crown Victoria Police Car (Plastic)

My problem is how to extend the floor boards to reach the side of the car and how to mount the door back onto the body of the frame.

Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated

This should help you.... If not go over to Scale Auto's forum, and do a search for "opening doors" or something similar

For extending the floor , I would use some sheet styrene.  Cut it to size and blend it in with some liquid cement.

Try to do a bit of research. Some users over the net do have also the same problem like yours. I have here to share is how to remove a car door. An automobile door is there to let us in and out of an automobile among other tasks so the idea of removing it seems scary to some. This is actually a fairly easy task that many places will give step-by-step advice on. You hardly have to even put effort into it; most parts come off with a simple set of screwdrivers. It makes me a little nervous knowing just how very easily my door really can come apart.

I found this here: Removing you're inside car door panel is simple auto repair
