See, airplane guys CAN build cars.  I always laugh when my car buddies build their first plane.  "Wow this is so easy!"  Way to go Wing_nut! Bow [bow]

Shock [:O] What? No AM cockpit and no PE bomb bay equipment???! J/K. Nice build. That is your first car model? It looks really great! AMT is one of the harder ones to build and make turn out nice. Usually Tamiya is pretty darn good, but some of there models lack engines, if that matters to you? Good job wing_nut!

Marc,

Very nice build, very clean, I like it. Great paintjob! Great idea for the blue.

As far as auto kits, you can't go wrong with Tamiya's new offerings if you're planning to venture down this alley again one day. It is very straight-forward, not much extra handwork to do. Unfortunately you won't have that amount of spare plastic left afterwards, but you can't have everything! Wink [;)] No, seriously, they really go together well, very little flash. So if they've got a subject you (or your girl) likes, I'll advise it anytime.

C'mon, you've tasted ot once, auto's are fun! Evil [}:)]

Pics of my 1st car model

As you can guess by my handle I do not frequent this area to often… OK hardly ever… OK this is my 1st time.  I am waiting for a GB to start on Dec 1 so I can get going on a 1/24 Fw 190D-9.

My 13 year old daughter loves the El Camino and we saw this is Michael’s so I said I would build it for her. And after putting it off, I finally did.  Actually this has been on the shelf for many months.   The pics are not great, something wrong with my cameras, but they hide many mistakes.  Face it… I had no idea what I was doing.Smile [:)]  But when you stand back it’s shiny and looks kind of cool and my little girl loves it.Big Smile [:D]

I have no idea what the good and bad kits are for cars but I am guessing this isn’t one of the top of the line kits.  AMC/Ertl?.  I have enough plastic from the flash to make a whole ‘nother model! But it clean up easy enough and went together in a couple of days.  Paint is Tamiya clear blue over Model Master Metalizer buffing aluminum.
