I haven't had a look inside the box of that re-issued Nova you speak of yet, but I have heard the same thing about it. It is great that we are getting all of these re-issues,  now only if AMT can match the box art to the box contents we would be set.

I found that car to online and that is the only pic I have seen of it. Most of the online pics of offroad rally muscle cars I have found have been very poor. The care is alway in the back grounf or at a bad angle.

Sweet pics Boshaus! Those cars are along the lines of what I am looking for but not so heavily modified. Looks like all thats left is the skin. But someone could build that nova with the kit they just released (or was it rereleased?). i heard that Nova kit can only be built drag though it shows it stock on the box it includes no stock parts. disappointing...anyone had a peek in that nova kit?

I really can't answer any of your questions, but I really would like to see this project when you get it done! Sounds pretty cool IMHO.

Not quite the same. Closest to that (that I know of) was the highly powerfull, lightweight cars they raced in the 80's, called the Group B cars. Very dangerous and was later banned.

I do not have full detail and background on that, but I'm sure here's quite a few guys that can tell you everything you need to know!

What a bug to bite! Welcome to the club!
I used to build planes, then got into auto's because I knew a little more and was looking for something else... Wel okay, a 1:12th JPS Lotus mk iii just looked soooo cool! Wink [;)] (Venturing down memory lane, I recently ordered the 1:20 version of that kit...)  After that kit, it was tickets. I still have a few planes in the cupboard and even bought a tank recently, just to try that as well, but auto's will allways rule for me! Yeah!! [yeah]

Muscle Rallye Cars?

Anyway long ago I was inspired by the old movie Cherry 2000 and decided to try to build that off road/baja Mustang recently. The car bug bit me! When I started the build I noticed that i had an AMT 1972 Nova SS kit,(you know the one with the blue drag Nova on the box). I was inspired to make something similar out of the Nova and then picked up the AMT 1975 Duster (Dodge Dart).  Did muscle dirt road rallye cars ever exist? Where can I find pics and info on them? Can I have the exhaust exit midway under the car or does it have to exit straight out the back? I have so many questions. I don't know jack about rallye cars so any info you guys could provide about these cars would be greatly appreciated.
