The truck part is going to be OOB basically with a scratch built body and details that make it a fire truck.

I do go through a little red paint. Pretty much stick with the Krylon Fusion red though. Like how it lays down and the shade it is. One of these days I will do another color though. I'll throw some pics up on a thread for it.

I have been wanting to get that Benz kit if for nothing else other than the body and the equipment. Never knew how much equipment came in it though. Sounds like a good bit so I may have to pick one up now.

Chris,   Should look great when it`s completed.     Is it semi-scratchbuild?  Please keep the photos coming.

You sure must get through a lot of red paint LOL.   What else could it have been other than another fire tender?

I`ve got a Revell M/Benz fire engine in my pile of `kits to build`.  There appear to be lots of small detailed items in the side lockers.  It looks like an enjoyable build.

For once I am actually building a big truck. A Peterbilt. Of coarse it will be a fire truck of some sorts when done. Big Smile [:D]

Here's the last pic I took of it.

Glad to see you are still around Chris.    You can`t keep a good man down,  can you?

Hi  John,   I must have been lucky, so far I`ve only had one kit without the engine and that was the Italeri Volvo VN460.    I have to agree that it`s lost a lot of the satisfaction when you get a kit with a fixed hood and nothing underneath it.   The manufactures say it`s to attract a larger (and younger) set of customers.

At present I`m building a trailer for the Volvo shown above.   It`s the chassis of the Italeri canvas trailer with the (cut-down) body of a Revell refridgerated semi-trailer and the addition of an hydraulic tail lift that was part of the Italeri accessory kit (the one with the crane).  Can`t wait to see the results.     Jim

I'm here, I have been building model trucks for nearly 30 years, and have no plans to slow down.

I do not buy many new kit's these days as the new trucks seam to have no engines in them.

You'd thing the amount of money you now pay for truck kit's there'd supply all the basic parts.

Cheers

John
