Tamiya Enzo Ferrari

Lucky you - only models I get as a present are those I buy myself for reward!

I have not built it, but I can tell you that you can pretty much go by the book. The newer Tamiya kits are just  so well done, you really can just go with the instructions. Do the basics and you will end up with a good model. They have really done their homework and the fittings are spot-on for sub-assemblies, so gettin the final assembly done, you don't even have to wonder if it will all come together, it just does! You can really start this kit (all new Tamiya kits!) with confidence.

If you've got ANY questions, ask away. And I'm pretty sure somebody will still come along with a build-up... there are surely somebody who've built it.

I can make only two suggestions...first is to check out this link http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/feature.php?article-id=30 it's a how to article on building the enzo. This article is very helpful. Second is to buy the ScaleMotorsport's super detail set if you can. It's pricey but well worth it.

Stunning kit! Possibly the best Ferrari Tamiya have done - road or race. The kit engineers have really done Ferrari proud with this one. The detail kit is fantastic, albeit expensive. I built mine straight from the box, adding only c/f decals, bmf, & Eduard's motorsport seat belts. Couldn't be more happy. Now if only they would do the 612 Scaglietti, 600 Imola & the new 430.

Excellent kit. I will add this advice. Scrape the paint from the edges of the body panels. It fits together so good that the paint will throw off the alignment of them.

on what everybody else said. Its a wonderful kit full of detail! The only suggestion I can offer is this, use a white primer over the body on the panels you paint black on the side of them. It will help the reds (or yellows) match since the plastic is somewhat thin to be more realistic! Good luck and post some pics when you get done

I just picked this up at Hobby Lobby today.  Normally priced at $55, I stumbled across a shelf in the back of the store with a bunch of kits on it marked as clearance items, and there it was.  Twenty-six dollars.  Needless to say I snatched up the box.  I brought it over to the model aisle to compare it with the few Tamiya Enzo kits that were there, thinking I was surely mistaken about what I had, and there were no differences. 

The box wasn't damaged, so it wasn't priced down for that reason.  I guess the possibility exists that an employee marked the kit down and set it aside as a "clearance" item for himself (or herself).  If so, and you're reading this    ha ha, I found your kit, and now it's mine.

I opened it up as soon as I got home, and everything seemed to be in order.  Having never seen a Tamiya kit before, I must say that I'm quite impressed.  Metal trim pieces, carbon fiber decals, windshield masks, no flash whatsoever, and GREAT detail.  Sadly, I'm not going to get around to building this up for quite a while, but for the price, I couldn't pass on it.

THAT WAS MY KIT!!! J/K Somebody is going back there to get it tomorrow when they have the day off and they are gonna be mad! It is a great kit, you will enjoy it, just make sure you got some micro sol handy for the carbon fiber decals!
