                        My wife found some very thin and pliable vinyl or naugahyde (spelling?) at a fabric shop and was wondering if I could use it for my car interiors. She said it was small pieces like she buys her felt and it comes in different basic colors.

                        I've never tried glueing such fabric to a 1:24th scale interior car before, has anyone here ever tried such a thing?

                        I've glued other types of fabric to larger scale models and they turned out nice.

                        Just wondering before I go and make a mess of things LOL.

                        I think the next thing on my list is a big magnifying glass for these old eyes... Sad [:(]

                        The question is how thin is thin?

                        I've heard of applying paper-thin leather to automobile seats (see here), but am unsure if your material will require the skivving or how it will hold up.

                        WOW thanks for the link to Brians web site. I heard about it but never been to... awesome stuff.

                        After looking at the tutorial with my wife, she believes the vinyl was thin enough.

                        But I'm liking the idea of real leather better, now to find small pieces, another quest for the wife hehe.
                        Carpeting, door handles, window cranks, seat belts... Alpine CD player... I'll never finish a model now. Tongue [:P]

                        I wonder... A '64 Impala lowrider with diamond button tuff velour interior, hydraulics, fur dash... "hey Cheech, hey Cheech..." Clown [:o)]

                        Just about any leather shop will have scraps laying around they will probably give you! You could always try elmers glue to.

                        My wife promissed me that if I get my essay done before Sunday night, that she'll take me shopping on Monday (her day off) morning after the kids leave for school.

                        She's already got it planned out - a fabric store, an upholstery shop, arts & crafts, Radio Shack, the Hobby Shop, oh yeah and doing lunch. Big Smile [:D]

                        Besides some materials I added some more tools to my list for my tool box LOL.

                        Lets see -
                        Leather, flocking, Elmers Glue, 1/16" ribbon, styrene plastic (sheets & rods), wires, pin vise & drill bits, etc... you get the idea. Wink [;)]
