CLEAR COATS OVER DECALS...?

IM BUILDING A 2001 WRX WORLD RALLY CAR AND WAS WONDERING IF A CLEAR COAT OVER SPONSER DECALS WILL HARM THEM. I WANT TO ELIMINATE THE RIDGE YOU GET AROUND DECALS...ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?

If Rally cars are like NASCAR Winston cup stock cars, the decals are applied after the paint, and stick up from the paint a bit, and have a diffrent sheen. So, no clear coat over the decals.

If you clear over the decal, it will seal & protect the decals from scratching, peeling, leaving the ridge etc. I always clear over the decals on my planes/autos & have not had any problems.
