My latest project-51 chevy fleetline lowrider
Posted by modelbuilder on Sunday, March 26, 2006 12:07 AM

Hi all here are some pics of what I have been working on. I have removed all of the molded on chrome and emblems and other bits. Filled and sanded many of the body seems. Filled the seems above both rear windows. Installed a dual antenae I found in the parts box. The engine is also made up of parts box items. The wheels are Pegasus hobbies and the tires are from Hoppin Hydros. I dont think the stance is low enough, how about you guys?

Tough call...

I think for the look/style you are going for I'd have to agree, I'd lower it just a little bit more.

Is the chassis placed in the body correctly?
The wheels look to far rearward in the wheelwells.

Looks like you're having a fun custom build going there. Let us see how you are progressing on it. The body prep looks good, can't wait to see how it comes out.

Ive had to cut out the "tunnel" on the interior pan due to the lowering process and engine I chose. Whats the best way to rebuild this?

My quess for the "best" results would be to get a sheet of styrene and cut out a funnel shape. Heat it just enough so you can roll it to shape. Make it slightly bigger or taller than you need and trim it to fit the floor pan.

Or you can opt for a custom console look just by using 3 pieces (2 sides & a top). Shape to fit your design.

You can hide any imperfections by either using flocking or actual material and lay carpeting in.

Just a few ideas while I'm drinking my 1st cup of coffee. Wink [;)]

Yeah I know, 1:53pm... bad night.  Sad [:(]
