Honda NSX Tokyo Street Racer

Hi, i've jus' joined this forum, and have been modelling mainly, 1/24 auto's! This is somethin' i've finished jus' recently! This is one of Tamiya's old NSX kits, all i've done is to change the rims, I used Aoshima's Gartmaier 18" set! Tell me what you think?

It's down to, first and foremost, gettin' a good lay down of paint, then polish out any imperfections and the dreaded 'orange peel' with Micromesh Polishing Cloths, basically at this stage I only use the 6000, 8000 and 12000 grit papers! Thanks!

What paints do you use?  I normally use automotive acrylics for my occasional Ferraris.  I know there's a fine limit between high gloss finish and runs all over, so I tend to get an orange peel and polish the paintwork with turtle wax, but that very tedious work, and messy too.

I use Tamiya TS sprays, I start by layin' down two mist coats of paint, and then two heavy or wet coats! What the Micromesh cloths do are basically sand the finish down, they are cloths, and on one side they're coated with a diamond edge grit, specially formulated! As for the wax, sometimes I use good old Beeswax furniture polish, to buff it up! This is how I did my NSX!

Brilliant (and that's not a pun).  Thanks for that.  I'll give this technique a go.

Gosh!  What a collection you have there!  The Alpine Renault must be my favourite out of the lot; it is  is really, really nice.  What kit was that?

Here's a link to my site, if you want to see the sort of stuff I'm up to...  I haven't got to post pics of my few Ferraris yet, but seeing your work makes me want to do a car again...  A have quite a few in my stach...

holy cow.  that gallery of cars is awesome.  and for the nsx, aside from the beautiful shine it has, those rims really do look better than the appearance with the stock ones.

Very nice work.  Can we see the engine and interior, too?  I couldn't open your link on my work computer, so I'll check the rest out when I get home where the firewalls aren't so bad.
