Those are nice kits. I'm working on Tamiya's Porsche 911 GT1 le mans racer. Any ideas where I could go online to locate a wiring diagram for the engine or any detail images of the car?

yea it does seem to be the same look as that engine from the C5-R.  n i doubt the GT-R would use a vette engine for JGTC races.  i caught a glimpse of that revell kit at my local hobbyshop.

http://www.revell.de/en/products/model_kits/model_kits/cars/index.html?id=207&KOKANR=01&KOSCHL=04&KGSCHL=&L=1&page=1&sort=0&nc=&searchactive=&q=&SWO=&ARMAS4=&CatalogueSID=c00016a46305d32e3b004a3f0f8ff665&KZSLPG=&offset=3&cmd=show&ARARTN=07354&sp=1

seems to be that one.

n.... does that engine just say VTECH on it??....   that's... heresy.

Dear Richard,

 nice build, both!

I have a few questions. The engine for the GT-R came from C5-R racecar from revell you say. Is the C5-R racecar not a corvette? Is the engine in the real cars both the same?

Also I am curious to know how you managed to get the hinges for the engine hood fitted, also a part from another kit and what about the water reservoir and other items in the engine bay?

Last one, can you give me the number of the Revell C5-R racecar kit?

PS: bought both Tamiya GT-R and Xanavi Nismo Z kit (let's start building)

H20_MARK,  buy the kit, its a nice one.  i had no problems building this kit it gose together nicely. you pay a little more for Tamiya kits but the quality is also much better.

That is just awesome!!! I built this kit, it is a good one. Where did you get the motor from? Mine was a curbside? At any rate, that is one great looking car! Thumbs Up [tup]

Really nice build Richard.

I've only built mostly street/muscle cars too, but I'm starting to get some race cars in my stash.
Those Tamiya kits look pretty interesting compared too my old Revell and AMT kits LOL.

Thanks for sharing... Smile [:)]

Well Welcome!

I'm fairly new around here myself. I saw that kit a few days ago and thought strongly about picking it up but decided to wait. I still plan on getting it. So how did the build go? Any major problems or issues with the kit?

Looks Awesome!

Nice job.  I've never done a race car but it looks like an interesting subject.  Can't wait to see the Ferrari.
