I sure hope to see the open door as that Tamiya never bothered with the open door things we love diecast cars for.  The japanese text under it just states that's an image and the product will become a assembly kit what not.  (Boy my J grammar is getting worse out of college.)

Try the English page. Big Smile [:D]

Have read on another forum that it's got a diecast chassis again Banged Head [banghead] and that the doors will have metal hinges (like on the Astra DTM's).

You can reserve the kit at: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/

It also says:

Gulwing doors can be opened.
Engine hatch can be opened.
V8 5.5L super charged engine is well re-produced.
Die-cast chassis.

saw one on ebay shipped from hongkong.  but from my oversea purchase experience i'd rather wait a lil longer till it gets here.  i don't want to pay premium shipping for a kit to be wrapped up in some paper and shipped over.

That looks pretty nice, unfortunately I'd only probably pick one up on sale since I'm not a huge SLR fan.

hi f1 champ,
thats the same thing i said about the Ferrari ENZO (ill pick one up on sale) I did finaly get one on sale for $30.00.  It only took almost 3 years.
ive noticed  if you wait a few years  the price of the more expensive kit dose come down a little.
most stores are offering this kit at $45.00 if you pre-order.

I actually got it in June this year, it's still sitting on my shelf until I can convince myself to purchase the SMS superdetail set.

save your money!!
i just opend  my kit. the engine block is molded into the engine bay. the doors dont stay open on ther own, thay need a thin metal rod to hold them up. I also dont like the front grill its solid plastic, not screen.
I guess i gust expected more for the price.
For $60.00 thats not cool.  its like looking at a Fujimi kit. Tamiya dropped the ball
on this one.

By the way, Tamiya also released a little photo etch sheet related to the car.

Thank you all for coming José

Wow... that really doesn't sound like typical Tamiya quality. Hopefully they don't drop the ball on the new Ferrari FXX they just announced.

Well that just sucks! Now they are going to say that they include the engine, but just mold it to the engine bay. Man, I would rather they just left the engine out, at least you would know what to expect.Sign - With Stupid [#wstupid]
