What I decided to do was this here;

Painted the exterior Grabber Yellow
Interior will be flat yellow seats
Using flat black for the floors and covering with black flocking
Dash will be flat black with the above mentioned wood panel accents (also noted in the assembly instructions)

The Mono Boss 429 is moulded with a "deluxe interior" option, that is a different trim pattern and additional items not on a base interior. The trim colors available for 1970 were: Black, White, Red, Vermillion (orange), Green, Tan and Blue. With Grabber Yellow exterior the non special order choices were Black or White. Other colors could be ordered as retail order....you could get Ford to build a yellow car with a red interior but the dealer would have wanted a big deposit so you wouldn't walk away from it!

The white interor had "accent colors" that were chosen from the other available interior colors, i.e. you would have white seats with black, blue, red, etc. carpets and dash pad. Obviously there were no white carpets. Also the deluxe inteior included wood grain dash and passenger dash inserts. deluxe interiorsd also included color keyed seat belts so don't put black ones with a red interior...the belts match the carpet accent color.

A black interior is a sure bet, almost all cars offer that combo. another popular color was black dash, carpeting, and white seats and door panels.

G. S.,

Yellow & black are always a good combo. If you decide to go w/ that color, try Krylon semi-flat black, # 1613, makes for a good vinyl look. The MonoG ' 70 Boss 302 calls for semi-flat black for the interior. Hope this helps.

Does any one know off hand what the original interior colors were for the `70 429 Boss with Yellow body paint? My guess is black but I can't find anywhere on the I-Hiway to support the theory. I would hate to paint my kit the wrong colors. Disapprove [V]Wink [;)]
