Picked up an old AMT Ford LNT 8000 Snow Plow kit at a yard sale for free a week or so ago...the builder had done a very poor job assembling the frame and motor. The frame is proving to be a challenge because the assembly was so bad, in particular....wondering if anyone has any Louisville frame parts in their parts bins? I would like to replace the frame completely (10 wheeler version....long wheel base(?)), but could get by with the spring and rear end assemblies, and the front end springs and axle assemblies. Likewise, if someone has the engine for one of these trucks, it would be helpful, but I could get by with some of the plated parts on the motor... I have managed to save the motor assembly but will have to make several missing plated parts, I guess, at this point.
The builder really messed up the frame and glue bombed the motor, but he used cheap glue, so it all came apart ok, but the frame is so rough, it will take a lot of work just to make it look barely average. Fortunately, the dump box and plow assemblies are still in separate sealed bags, and the body had not been touched much, so the most obvious parts will look ok (the kit is worth saving).....but, boy, the frame was awful.....lol.
