Tamiya Yamaha YZR500/Reproducing cosmoline?
Posted by Bones-coa on Sunday, August 24, 2003 8:00 PM
Ok, I know theres some bike rider/modelers out there that can help me with this. I can find very little good pics on the web as reference for this little kit. More specifically, the engine color. Tamiya has mixing two colors together for it, but I'd like to see a good pic of the color. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

I've just edited the subject after considering that the engine color Tamiya is trying to produce is cosmoline. Anyone have any experience in doing this?

Just finished that model (in the red Antennae 3 version) I just used MM aluminun and shot a little semi-gloss over it.

That's what I was going to do. However, apparently the engine was coated in cosmoline...at least that's what I'm guessing. Doing so gave the engine a light brown or tan color. I'm just trying to get a picture of the engine with the stuff on it to match the color.
