E-type Jag/Gullwing
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 9:44 PM
I'm trying to surpise my mom for her birthday, by making her a model of A.) an e-type jag, or B.) a merc. Gullwing, her two favorite cars. Does anyone know of any companies that make models of either of them. Thanks in advance.

Revell did the E-type roadster, the Shaguar from Austin Powers, the spy who shagged me.

Gunze Sangyo also had the roadster, one simple and one super detailed with etched wheels and a ton of die-cast parts. The detailed one was also issued under Airfix lable. I'd go for the Revell one, at least it'll be easier to find and to a more reasonable prize.

The Gullwing was issued by AMT.

I don't know the availability for these kits but if nothing else maybe you can find them at Ebay

Good luck!

Unless I missed it, you didn't say whether the Jag was a roadster or coupe. I agree, the revell roadster is your best bet. If you're after a coupe, the only one I know of is the old Aurora in 1/25th. Not a bad kit for it's day. If you want to go 1/8th, you might find the Mongram on E-Bay. Several gullwings were issued, as large as (I think) 1/16th.
