AMT 1969 Ford Cobra Model
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 17, 2006 4:53 PM
Have just found an old 1969 Ford Cobra model at an auction.  The kit was complete except for the two "metal pins" that hold the front wheels on.  Is there any suggestions for dealing with this small problem.

Try making new ones from finishing nails.

My son lost his recently and was upset - "Dad, now what? My wheels won't turn."
So I grabbed a rim set and headed to the work shed. Found my smallest finishing nails, slightly enlarged the holes in the rim set and presto, he had his rolling wheels again.

Most local hobby shops have piano wire, brass tubing, and aluminum tubing that can be used to make axels.
