Here is the latest completion. It was for a friend who had already begun some work on it which of coarse made it no easier for me. The only real things I don't like is the glue is on the passenger side windshield and that the body paint orange peeled. The only thing that I can think is that I painted it outside and of coarse Aug. in GA is a little humid. Two small pieces I did inside turned out great. My wife did most of the detail painting. Let me know what you thin and what could have been done better.

First time I ever drove or was in a Vette was the one you modeled. It had a single 4 bbl. You did a nice job, brings back lots of memories. Was the cross ram manifold aftermarket or part of the kit?

To tell you the truth it was part of about 3 kits that he gave me that he had started. For all I know it came from one of the others. The distributer is from a 67 mustang kit though. The only other parts that were not with the kit are the plug wires which are 26 gauge brite wire and the radiator hose which is speaker wire.

Hi Chris,

Yep, humidity and showroom finishes on models don't go together, that's for sure, as many old model bodies in a box in my attic attest!

You can try something, although it will be difficult since all the small chrome and detail parts are affixed, but you can get some #0000 Steel Wool and carefully rub the "Orange Peel" off.... being careful not to rub through the paint..... then mask off the interior and windshield, and spray a coat of Gloss Coat over the car (in an air conditioned inviorment)

It'll be tricky, but it's the only solution I can come up with. I love those old Corvettes, however, and it's always good to see one being built! You done a great job!

Thanks Frank , yea it's a little late to fix the paint I made delivery of it to my friend allready. Of coarse to him it was not a big deal with the paint because according to him ,he did'nt know you could make a plastic model look like that. Now if I could only talk my wife into letting me spray in the house problem could be solved. Where would I find #0000 Steel Wool at though?
