1/12th F1 seat belts
Posted by dkmacin on Sunday, October 8, 2006 6:52 PM

After a long hiatus I am back putting my 1/12th Tamiya kits together.

I used F1 Specialties for seat belt material, but see they are not stocking it any more, what's a good source for 1/12th seat belts, 1960 style for my Matra MS11 first.

Thanks

Hey Don,

If you are looking for the belt material, try going down the isle in a fabric store where they have those spools of ribbons. You're likely to find something close enough to use.

If it is buckles you are looking for, they are getting tricky. One month I can order certain types, the next they are gone and another type is available all in different scales. My distributors are driving me crazy!Propeller [8-]

Let me know if you ever get in the old pull to release type in 1/12th scale! The old four point system, If not available soon I may have to attempt to make the hardware myself. But I have the Tyrell, and Honda that require belts too, so I'll need them. The Ferrari and Renault come with belt material and plastic 'hardware'.

I'll see what I can dig up Don.
Unfortunately my hobby has been taking a back seat to my college work lately. But whenever I get free time I am always searching for new items.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the kit that you're working on? I'd love to see some 1:12 F1 cars.

I'm a bit of a computer idiot when it comes to posting photos, *heavy sigh* but I shall try to do it yet again. . .

Start your web search. R&M of MD made some resin ones a few years back. Check out Strada Sports www.stradasports.com. They might have them, if not they are a great source for all sorts of goodies. I think Red 5 only does 1/20 as well as S27. But I would check them for a source. Good Luck!
