Fujimi Lamborghini Countach LP5000S
Posted by Lance on Saturday, October 21, 2006 5:18 PM
While helping my parents clean out their attic in order to move to their new house I found two kits that I never finished as a kid.
The Fujimi is the 1/20 scale Lamborghini kit but the instructions are completely in Japenese.
Anyone know if there are translated instructions out there for this kit? I mainly need it translated for the paint colors. I'm pretty sure I can put it together from the diagrams.
And the other kit is a 1/24 scale Fujimi/Testors '85 Porsche 911 Turbo.
I posted this on rec.models.scale but go no responses. I know it's an obscure kit but I'd like to build it.
Any help would be a big help.
Thanks.
Lance

Nice finds!

If all else fails you can always take a picture of the paint guide and post it at Automotive forums and hopefully you will get some help with the translation.

Good luck!

Lance - if it's any help here is the paint code from the Fujimi 1/24 Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole - I shouldn't think it is much different to the LP5000S and at worst may give some idea

Good luck

Thanks proosen and Martsmodels!
The Lamborghini will be a test but fun.
I have 4 kits in front of it to build before I get to that one. I'm currently working on the Revell Ferrari 360 Modena Spider, then Tamiya MB CLK DTM2000 Team D2, Tamiya Calsonic Skyline GT-R 2003 and then the Fujimi/Testors '85 Porsche 911 Turbo! Lots of practice before the Lamborghini (and I need it, modelling again at age 31 after 15 years).
My dad really wants me to build the Lamborghini since he payed $19.99 15 years ago. I guess turning 16 and getting a real car changed my priorities back then.
Thanks again and I'll post some pics once I get started on the kit.
I may very well be posting for more help once I get to it, instructions look a bit complicated, let alone in Japanese!

Good luck with this kit. I built one of Fujimi's Countach's some years ago now & it was a complete dog. The spare wheel bonnet would sit down properly, nor would the doors close flush & the rear suspension had too much positive camber - rather like a VW beetle. I finished it, just to prove a point & then immediately confined it to the cupboard, never to see the light of day.

Lance, if you still need help with the Japanese instructions, especially the paint codes, shoot me an email and then I can give you my fax number here at work. I work for a small Japanese company and have 3 co workers that are Japanese. Im sure they could translate things for you.   Let me know.
