Kids can be so cruel sometimes but I wonder how many of the ones that hung the nickname "Banjo Eyes" on Banjo Matthews because of his thick glasses wound up being half as well known or revered as the object of their torment? He went on to become a pretty good driver and one of the most respected car builders in stock car racing, building race winning entries for people such as the Wood Brothers and the legendary Junior Johnson. Here I am with my 1/25 scale model of one of his rides he drove for the '62 Nascar season.

Thanks, glad you like'em. Noticed the P-40 in your avatar. I had a friend who flew with Chenault in the AVG in Assam. Got some copies of a few of his pics if I can find them including a really neat "dragon" P-40 characature (sp) that I'll try to find and post on the aircraft side.
