Mike, hobby skills must run in the family! That's pretty darn good for a first model! Tell him to keep up the good work. And be sure to be a good big brother and post his other kitsBig Smile [:D]

Thats sweet. My Dad loves Scouts, we've had sooo many (12) scouts. He'd buy beaters and peice them all together into one masterpiece of a truck. He sent a picture in once to Four Wheeler magazine I think or some other mag. I dunno if anyone here has ever seen the magazine but it was a beatiful Scout II, lipstick red, huge black bumpers and a softtop with his homemade roll bars. I miss that truck, and me and my Dad have been trying to find a model of one for a while but we never find them in the hobby stores. I plan on finding a kit and building it just like my Dad's red truck with scratchbuilt roll bars and everything. Very nice job for a first timer too, my first models were snap-tites with my Dad. That was when I was 4, I'm 17 now and I've moved on to armour and aircraft.

Good Job

Well you let your brother know that I think he did a GOOD Job on that kit.

My brother's first model- International Scout
Posted by Lucien Harpress on Monday, January 15, 2007 11:52 AM

I'm normally an aircraft guy, but my yonger (15 year old) brother is more into the automotive stuff.  He also has a thing for the old International Scouts, and suprised me a bit when he bought the 1/25 AMT Ertl offering and asked me for help.  I actually did relatively little on the final build.  I just painted the body color becuase I had an airbrush.  Everything else is all him.  Sure, it has it's flaws, but for a first model, whaddya think?

Comments are welcome, and definitely appreciated.  Thanks!
