Sorry I took so long to answer your question. I built the stock version. I don't remember the shade of blue I used but it is dark so when I put the white bumble bee stripe around the tail the color showed through a little. Other than that, I was very pleased.

 

Bought a new 69 Dodge Super Bee Six Pack and still remember a lot of the details, so if you have any questions lemme know !

Which version did you build?

Just opened the kit to examine it.  First this I said was 'Wow and cool'.  Which one of the two styles will I tackle.  Once I can borrow my daughter's digital, I should upload a photo of the box cover and the two different versions.  Decisions, Decisions.

I there is a craft/hobby store that every two weeks issues coupons for 40% off.  One item person, once per week.  So I was able to pick this up dirt cheap by Canadian $ standards.

This might get addicting.
