Ferrari F-40 1/12 Scale
Posted by seanrgb4 on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 1:40 PM

Well guys
The Turd is Finished
This has to be possibly the worst kit I have ever built
The guy who Designed this kit should of been taken outside and Shot at dawn
No Judge or jury involved   Laugh [(-D]

well then
The Wheels I painted with Humbrol Metalcote Flat Aluminium
But also left some Chrome on them

The body work was painted in Halfords ''Honda Milano Red''
The number plate on the front was Tamiya tape painted white
the Rear plate was a scrap of plastic painted yellow
Then painted in Tamiya clear yellow
The letters were 1/32 Aircraft Decals

Still got to finish off the tail lights on her

So hear she is

 Cheers Guys

Its the Revell kit , Its ok but the fit is pretty bad due to warping

maybe I had a Duff kit , the door mirrors are to big show you have to chop off a bit off them

the rear lights are molded in clear red plastic

which is a headache as 2 of them are orange

as you can see I painted the chroethen went over in Tamiya clear orange

Result Bronze coloured lights Boohoo [BH]

Dont spend a great deal of time on the Interior ,once its inside

you cant see much

But apart from that when the kits done it looks pretty good

My next mission is the 1/12 Ferrari Testarossa kit

So I dare say I'll be getting wound up building that one

Well if you were putting lipstick on a pig, you deserve the Academy
Award for that job!  Awesome work!  Very very nice job.
I love the rear deck lid, you really got the clear part to look
good.  Well done!

It actually don't apply to Tamiyas F-40 as the bonnet doesn't fit proprely and it's easiest to just glue it shut.

Please use proper language instead of this SMS-jibberish, the forum isn't limited you know!? Wink [;)]

The build itself is very well executed, job well done so to say.

The Italeri is the old Protar and Revell is the old Monogram, both of them aren't good. But I think that the Protar was better, although when I saw 20 years ago I though...this is not for me LOL.

Sean I understand what you mean about the kit, and this shows us you have a lot of skill...and patience, Congrats!
