I throw a NASCAR model in between armor and airplanes just to get some color.

Although I have about 30 tank models, all I am currently building is NASCAR. Like you, I think Daytona just got me in the mood to go racing. Besides, they are a lot more colorful that the armor I'm usually working on. I'm currently working on a modified black Dale Jr supported by brothers BBQ restuarant, complete with Hauler. So far its turning out OK

Built many back when NASCAR was still good....

not so many lately now that NASCAR has become a dollar driven cult of personalities.

I do have a pair of Rusty Wallace cars in work but I'm doing more F1 and WW2 aircraft lately.

I've been following NASCAR since the late 'sixties and have built quite a few kits over the years.  Most of 'em have been lost, destroyed, or otherwise come up missing (lots of moving and a couple of divorces will do that...).  I still have a couple of them and am working on another one currently.  All of them are older Wood Brothers #21 cars 'cause I much prefer the older "real" stock cars.

There's another site I frequent that is pretty much based on NASCAR scale modeling and is chock full of excellent info, tips, tricks, and some really great people.  Not sure that I should post it here, but if anyone is interested in checking it out just e-mail or PM me.

Normally I build aircraft & armor, but I did build one of his cars.

Hey guys, I was just getting ready to watch the 500 and was curious as to if anyone builds alot of NASCAR kits?  I have 2 Dale Earnhardts I'm working on for my dad right now, he's a HUGE Fan, and I was going to have them ready for fathers day.  But I end up making them during a race, I don't know why, sort of inspiration I guess.  But I just never see many NASCAR models on here, is it taboo or something?  But just thought I would see, because I am fascinated with them since I built a Brett Bodine Quaker State snape tight back in the day, one of my very first if not THE very first, wish I could find it.  I believe it was AMT.  But just making conversation.  I'm going to get my 2001 lumina out now and try and get some work done.  Peace to you all!
