MFH FXX conversion VS Tam. FXX
Posted by knoxb on Monday, March 5, 2007 2:53 PM
I'm debating getting Model Factory Hiro's FXX conversion for $180.  I believe Tamiya released their FXX kit after MFH's conversion.  Crazy Modeler has a very nice PE set for the Tam FXX. Maybe thats enough.  Althought the MFH conversion has some white metal engine parts. Any thoughts or input on this?

I purchased the Tamiya FXX together with the Tamiya PE sheet. The standard Tamiya kit is very detailed with 181 parts and together with the PE grills and seatbelts etc it will be a marvellous model. I was very satisfied with the Tamiya bits and I know they will fit the model. I mostly build bikes as I find cars a bit daunting and fiddly

Hi

I have purchased the E.JAN FXX conversion kit  and the Ferrari Enzo, I also purchased  the Tamiya FXX. I have also read reviews about the conversion kit and they say that the white metal parts such as the engine are copied from the Tamiya FXX kit, don't know if it's true. The conversion kit is very comprehensive, but the instructions are vague, if you go for it try    http://www.modelersite.com/Pdf_notes.htm  for a build using the E.JAN conversion kit (although they do use a FXX for the build not the Enzo?) There is a fee for the pdf file - 7 british pounds--11.19 US dollars at current rates.

If you go for the Tamiya FXX i would suggest Hobby design photoetch set HD02-0027.
