info on paint
Posted by grhornet on Monday, March 5, 2007 3:46 PM

I am a old aircraft man, just getting into automobiles. I bought a reville 70 boss mustang, and would like to paint it grabber blue.  all i can find it in is enamel. I woukd prefer to use acrilics, is there a corresponding paint color in acrylics?

I do not want to use enamels.

                                                                thank you

Testor Model Master acrylics have its corresponding Testor enamel Model Master FS number, you can take a look to Model Master Acryl II, Pactra, Floquil. Tamiya, Vallejo...and so on if you wish.

 Good Luck.

Most of the paint manufacturers have references for acrylics, however having a lot of time building car my experience tells me that you will have to use some kind of clear lacquer on the acrylic paint. Acrylics have proved to be very good for airplanes an armor but the gloss finish of a car needs more. I suggest to read some tutorial about painting model car bodies and later to take your decision about the paints.
