Mineshaft vehicle on Dirty Jobs last night
Posted by PatlaborUnit1 on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 12:06 PM

Did anyone catch the episode of DirtyJobs last night on Discovery?  Down in this salt mine in Kansas there are about half a dozen regular cars that have been cut up and made transportable down the elevator, and are used to move around in the mine (its roughly three miles long).  The one host Mike Rowe rode in used to be an Oldsmobile, now it is the front end and interior of a well batttered oldmobile, with the back seats removed, replaced with a stakebed, and a roll cage affair where the roof used to be. Very "Mad Max"!   Just curiious if anyone caught this episode, I would love to convert one of my lurking El Caminos for this....

I'll have to watch for this one to come around again.  Might make for some great kit bashing.
