grab a copy of scale auto if you dont have one, there are several resin casters in the ads who might be able to help you out, also you could getthe 70 chevelle from monogram and try to make that hood fit the monte,i know these two cars shared alot of the same parts in 1:1, so you might be able to get it to fit ???

Well guys I spoke too soon!!! I just got a reply back from Modelhaus and the hood they offer is the flat hood made for the original AMT release of the Monte Carlo. So back to square one ........... does anyone know of someone who casts the cowl induction hood for the 70 Monte Carlo???

Thanks guys for the help!!! I had seen the hood listed at Modelhaus, but didn't know if it was a stock replacement or the cowl induction. It really doesn't give any type of description of the hood. As far as the vinyl top kit goes, I found that it at Model Car Garrage, MCG713 & MCG714, in black or white, if anyone is interested.
Dave, I don't and never have owned a Monte Carlo. But I do currently own a 1972 Chevelle SS. It is painted black with gold stripes. In fact I just had Kieth Marks make me some stripes in gold, for a replica model I am doing of my car.

Go to modelhaus.com They have it. Also if you have time browse around the website, this guy is probably the best resincaster in the business. (for cars anyways)

rdrnnr1971, you can try a place called 'perrys resin casting' they might have the hood your wanting, as for the vinyl top , i once used regular masking tape to simulate a vinyl top on my monte, it came out really nice. have you ever had the real car? i used to own a 71 monte ss ,and two 72s neither one of those were ss cars but one was a big block. would love to have those back. hope this helps

Hope someone out there can help!! I am currently working on the AMT 1970 Monte Carlo, and building it as a '70 Monte Carlo SS. I was recently browsing model car parts suppliers and came accross a replacement resin cowl induction hood for the 70 Monte Carlo, but can't seem to find it now!! Can anyone help??? Also while browsing I came across a supplier that had a kit for making vinyl tops on model cars, but cannot find it again. Can anyone tell me who that was??
