When I want to print out something in a thread, I cut and paste into word, that way its easy to edit making it fit the page better and I don't have to print all the extra stuff (FSM header, ads, signatures, unneccessary photos etc.

Not quite as easy as a print freindly button doing it for you but not too much trouble and I usually find I don't need everything anyway. There are always little jokes and such that while funny I don't need to print them so I like the ability to edit.

It would be better if they allowed a printer friendly button that would strip out all the extraneous images and allow us to print them in B&W saving even more ink. But we can't have everything we want, eh?

Cheers,

That would be nice wouldn't it?

BigJim,

You're welcome. I'm glad you are taking my words as advice and not as an insult! It's a fairly simple matter to turn off and then turn back on. It would be better if they allowed a printer friendly button that would strip out all the extraneous images and allow us to print them in B&W saving even more ink. But we can't have everything we want, eh?

Cheers,

Bill

Bill,

Thank you very much. I did not know that. Now I'm sure a lot of other people know that too.

The point was not that I didn't like to see the signatures, it was I didn't want to keep printing them.

Simply click "no" for whatever you don't want to see and voila!  Problem solved.  Smile [:)]

I would to bring something up about modeling forums that many of you might not have thought of.

Every so often I come across a thread that has a lot of good modeling ideas and pictures describing peoples models. I like to print the threads and save them in a notebook. Many times, a member may post many times to a long thread and herein lies the problem.

Many people have large pictures, advertising, or other such stuff in their signature. I understand why you want them there, but, I would like for you to think of this;

When a thread gets printed, those large signatures are printed too, each and every time a person has posted to that thread. This takes up a lot of room, or in other words, it uses a lot of paper and ink for absolutely no reason.

I would like to kindly ask you to be considerate of others. It's no fun running out of ink in the middle of a print job.

Thank you.
