Rework on an older model...
Posted by Striving on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 10:19 PM

I am just now getting back into building models again. I dont have a lot of time to build, since I have like 3 other hobbies going too. But I am getting going again slowly.

Anyway, this is an old build I did about 4-5 years ago. It is the AMT 71 Duster I believe. A couple months after the build, the rear spoiler fell off, and got tossed in the trash (mistakenly) by my wife..lol.

I was in the attic the other day and found it and decided to strip it (used PINE-SOL which I learned about on these boards, worked great!) and give it a new, hopefully better paint job. I never liked that green and it was so thick,... what was I thinking??? lol..

Anyway here are some pics.. there is a little more to touch up on it.. but its 99% done. Used Bare Metal foil for only the second time, getting the hang of it. Cut off the spoiler mounts and repaired that area.

Thanks for looking. -Bruce
