Commercial Truck Detail
Posted by gregbale on Thursday, June 14, 2007 9:09 AM

I usually build things with wings, and I confess to near-total ignorance about the world of commercial trucks. However, I recently picked up a few semi truck/trailer kits (mainly the old Monogram 1/32s), and I've seen enough trucks on the road to know they'll look naked without brake lines, electrical pigtails, etc. between the tractor and trailer. Sort of like WW1 biplanes without rigging.

Any truck guys willing to offer (or direct me to) a short course on "typical" (if there is such a thing) rigs for these lines? I've scoured the internet for photos and/or diagrams, but the photos especially tend to be from a distance or the wrong angle, and it's tough to sort out the details.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to one and all for your suggestions. You pointed me toward some great stuff I hadn't managed to find.

Steve, thanks for your very kind offer. I've replied in an email.

Best to all!
