Was looking for a fourm to post my semi I am selling over at RCU and stumbled onto this forum. Thought maybe you all would like to see a 30 year old semi truck I have in my collection of toys.
This is the pride and joy of my collection. It is a truck that was well before its time in 1977/78. I say 1977/78 because the controller says it was made in July 1978, and the trailer has a stamp date of 1977.
It has digital proportional steering, see video below, and forward, forward with trailer release, and reverse. The trailer and truck is in the style of Allied Van Lines, and the trailer does double duty as that and comes apart and becomes a car hauler as well. Also both on the truck and the trailer it has real rubber tires, not hard plastic.
This truck is in near mint condition, as well as trailer, and works 100%, see videos. The chrome was coming off on the horns, exhaust stack, and trailer hitch, and I did my best to repaint them, which came out very good. Aside of that, all stickers are on the truck and in perfect condition, with very little scratches. This truck is 30 years old which I believe makes it a antique. It is 5 year shy of being as old as I am. Its really nice, and complete, I even have the box with instruction for it still. Along with this I even have 23+ year old Rough Riders, like stompers, that are new still in the package as well.
Now for the pictures!

This is a picture of the operation dial. In the middle as you see, is neutral. Green is forward, red is reverse, and yellow is forward with trailer detach. You press the black button on the controller which spins the dial, letting go of the button when the desired operation in selected when the the red arrow points to what you wish the truck to do. There is video of this in action for you to see bellow.

VIDEOS:
Video 1 of 3: This one shows the digital proportional steering
Video 2 of 3: This one shows the actual workings of the truck doing everything it does, in the Allied Van Line Mode :)
Video 3 of 3: This one shows the actual workings of the truck doing everything it does, in the car hauler mode, with my very heavy diecast General Lee being hauled around.
Thought you all here might like to see it since its a rare thing to see. I have only seen one more like it and it was broken and didnt look anywhere as good as mine.
