Lindberg quality?

I grew up on AMT kits, so doing a Lindberg kit is no different than doing a Revell kit. A little different than AMT  but generally pretty good. The '53 Ford was a nice kit to build, as was the 30's Ford (though that is not a Lindberg mold?), and a couple of others. I would not hesitate to buy a Lindberg kit if the subject matter interested me.

Just as a warning, several car models now under the Lindberg Logo were originally issued by other companies.  F'rinsrtance, their classic Auburn Speedster, Lincoln Continental and Cord 812 were first issued by Pyro in the '60s.  Even with chromed parts, rubber tires and decent decals, they are a bear to build.  Never built the Chevelle, but you should be prepared for "less than" current standards of detail, engineering and fit.

I'm told by our resident auto builder that some of thier cars are pretty nice, while I cannot vouch for this, I CAN say that the AH1 Cobra and UH1 Huey are pure crap.  With a TON of work and parts robbed from Fujimi Cobras the prototype can be fairly accurately made.

I generally avoid all things Lindberg.

Lindbergh kits will take a bit of TLC to make good. Since the build is sentimental for you, I think it should be no problem for you to turn the kit into a good model. Good luck, and post some pics!

Thanks for your opinions fellas. Was gonna also order the Model Car Garage PE detail set for it. I think I still may but later. I'll order the kit first and see how she goes.
