Way cool! I am building one using Revell's 69 Charger, and AMT's General Lee for the wheels, tires, and decals. You need to sand the vinyl roof from the Revell kit.

I have to admit, I am very biased toward the 69 Charger. That's what I was driving when our first born arrived. Let's see, that was back in 1976, so, yes, I'm getting old. Notice, I said "getting", not old yet. I know old people and I'm not one of them.

My best friend and I were so obsessed with the General Lee. When he finally turned 16, my buddy actually hit a steep railroad crossing at 70mph shouting "yee ha" the whole way. ALL four tires left the ground. When we landed he had smashed a hole in the oil-pan, and threw a rod in the engine. After I took note that all my apendages were still attached, and I hadn't split my skull open, I thought it was awesome that he had the balls to jump! One snafu...it was his MOM'S station wagon....
Thank the Lord, his mom was forgiving... she didn't decide to kill him. He did get his keys taken away...go figure!

As a kid, DOH was THE show on TV. My friends and I would all gather around the tube to watch it every Friday night, even the re-runs. It wasn't a show, it was a way of life.

Hi Kaalvin, Been there done that in my ford escort mk2. it was a local bridge named the flying bridge by the guys around here cos if you went over it at more that 50 mph you took off, i hit it at 85 and due to the car being fully rally prep'ed (strengthened, roll cage, uprated suspention, and so on) there was no damage . didn't do it that fast again though. (have i mentioned that i am now training to be a driving instructor?) that's one manouver that i wont be teaching LoL. Greg

I knew the assitant producer on the show, they single handedly destoyed a large percentage of Chargers left in the US...Angry [:(!]

Notice that they filmed all the jumps from several angles so that the same jump could be used on several episodes. As you may know, most cars will bend at the firewall when jumped like that, they cut away at the landing and re-cut in a shot of the non-fubared car.

Of course DOH was a highly realistic show, doesn't your car's tires squeal on dirt.....?Question [?] Apparently there are NO paved roads in Hazzard county!

But DANG that Daisy had some shorts!!!!!!Big Smile [:D]

Triva fact: DOH was Henry Ford II's favorite show!

If you really want to build a Charger, build the "Hit man's" ride from BULLITT!

It is possible to squeal tires on dirt, if the road is hard enough from so much travel and it's dry. Seeing how it never rained in Hazzard county the roads were definatley dry.

oh yeah the general lee is the best red neck car ever built. ive got a model of it and daisy's jeep and uncle jesse's truck. the general lee has got to be the most sought after model for people who watched the show.
