Revell 1967 Firebird

This is another one from a while ago. It's basically box stock except for the wheels and tires from the R/M '32 Ford, front and rear spoilers from the Revell '69 Z/28 and MCG photoetched emblems. Paint is airbrushed Boyds Orange Pearl with a couple of coats of Testors Transparent Red, and then Boyds Ultra Gloss clear. Bare Metal Foil adds the finishing touch. Enjoy!

Nice looking bird. What did you use for the carb color? Looks very realistic.

Thanks! The carb was painted using a 70% Gold and 30% silver mixture and then given a wash of very thin Flat Black.

Very nice work on the Firebird.  I love red cars, especially GM products.

Very nice 'bird!

Don't mean to be too anal here, but I believe this is a '68 Firebird.  I owned a 12" to the foot '67 bird and the front turn signals are inboard - they moved out to the "corners" in '68.

Great model!

You are correct, Sir. I can't believe I made that mistake! Thanks for your comments.

Wow, for a micro second I thought it was a picture of a car you were going to model. How did you get the BMF so even? And the paint job is as good or better than any I have seen. The engine bay looks excellent. The detail of wire ,radiator hose and paint choice is superb. I really like the work on the wheels and tires. A very fine job on  a classic Pony car. Thanks for showing.

I bet the interior looks just as good.
