Back then there wasn't much "store bought" racing equipment so you just used what you had or could find. Mostly you'll take stuff off instead of having to add a bunch of stuff. A 3/4 ton truck hub for at least the right front and some marginally wider tires and you're off to the races.

I need some help I have a 1/18 scale 1940 Ford coupe that I want to take apart and rebuild as an old school stock car. I was wondering if anybody else has ever done a project like this, I need some pictures of roll cages, engines etc. I haven't been able to find much online any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
