I found that kit guys. Perry's Resin has it . If you wanna look at it it perrysresin.com under catalog then under light trucks. It should be the first pic there. Thanks again guys for all of the advice. I'll be checking back w/ the finished kit as soon as possible. Hopefully w/ some pics. Gotta see if my MiniDV's still pics are good enough to send in. See ya then !!

I'm trying to do the same with a '29 Ford PU and having a hard time but dont let that scare you as I havent worked on a plastic car model in about 20 years and everything that I thought I knew is not coming back easly. So good luck and just go slow and dont be afraid to make misteaks. (See what I mean)

i done one a while back on a 63 chevy truck using a 99 chevy silvarado cab as a victim and it came out pretty good. i cut the cab off and cut the back outa the 63 and used a soldering iron with a flat tip to "weld" the pieces together. works pretty good as long as ya dont get the plastic to hot. good luck

Here's what I was thinking of. I found this ad in the November '02 issue of Model Cars Mag and have seen it in other mags too. This body isn't listed in their current online catalog and may have been too modified for your needs anyway but I knew I had seen something along these lines. If you think it could work it might pay off to contact them and ask about it.

I hope I didn't break any rules by posting this. I am not affiliated with Perrys. If this was a bad thing, just delete it, no explanation needed. You won't hurt my feelings.

thanks guys for all the help. Dave I thought of doing that as well but the problem is that all the kits that i've seen in stores so far are of full size trucks like a f-150 or a silverado. But I haven't done a real extensive look on the net for maybe a resin s10 extended or even a full blown kit. Again thanks for the advice so far. I'll be sure keep this thread updated if I do find either of those two. Keep the suggestions coming if you can think of anymore!!

Spikebeatz, you have the complete opposit problem that I do. I have been trying to find a regular cab F-150 or new style Chevy and all I can find is extended cab. It's almost like the manufacturers can read our minds and than make the opposite just to have a laugh.

Dave's got the right idea. You can do the same thing with the interior. Just take your time and use the old carpenter's rule of thumb...Measure twice, cut once. Sometimes it take's more than twice even.

I know I've seen an extended cab S10 body somewhere, maybe in resin. When I run across it I'll post it in this thread. It may have even been a whole conversion kit. What I'm thinking is that it's a pro stock type body but it may be an easier conversion than putting two kits together.

You could go here www.modelcarkits.com and go to the message board link and ask them. Someone over there could probably tell you right away what's available.

welcome spikbeatz, one trick you could try would be to go out and buy another kit, cut out a portion of the cab and then mate it to the cab of the first model, am i making any sence?i'm sure you will get all the help you need here on the forums. good luck!

Welcome to the forum, Spikbeatz! Hope you enjoy your stay with all of us wackos.

Wow, tough conversion. The least you would probably have to do is extend the frame with plasticard or sheet stock, plus extend the drivetrain axle. The rear section of the cab could be done with cardstock, but will require alot of sanding and filling to get the curves right. Then, the interior... you could use putty to create the rumble seats, floor curves, and interior trim. Clear plastic sheeting would be my guess for the rear windows. Texturing can be done with a sculpting tool or hobby knife, if you're really careful, but I won't kid you, it's going to take alot of work to make it happen. Good luck, if you decide to do it!

trying to make an extended cab for a single cab

I wanted to make a pickup truck model for a friend of mine and she has an s-10 pickup w/ extended cab. The problem is the closest one I could find is the amt/ertl s-10 kit(black in color) but its a single cab. I was wondering how would I go about making it into an extended cab. Would I have to make a putty extention or maybe I could find a resin part from someone who has done this before? Any links, answers, products, anything really would be great. I am completely new to modeling and the forums too as you can see from my wooping 3 posts! So I'm sorry if I can came to the wrong section of the forums to ask. Let me know which section I would need to go to if I am in the wrong one. Thanks! Hello everyoneBig Smile [:D]
