Neat kit.  I also built one back in the 60's.  Great detail for it's time, but as Bob says it can be a nightmare getting everything in the chassis drivetrain lined up and then getting the body panels to fit correctly.  I remember having particular problems getting the exhaust headers lined up with their openings in the lower side body panels.

Well done, it can be a spectacular model.

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] I have built two of these little buggers over the years ... enjoyed the build ... just didn't like the results 100% ... but then I'm hard on myself ... good luck, from what I have heard and seen ... results can be outstanding Cool [8D]

Thanks for the info guys!  I found the Scale Auto thread; it'll help a lot.

About a year or so ago there was a thread on the Scale Auto Mag forum about an excellent build of the Challenger I. You might want to search for that.

Mickey Thompson's Challenger I?

Have any of you built the old Revell kit of Mickey Thompson's Challenger I land speed record car?  I recently bought an unbuilt kit on Ebay and am looking forward to building it.  It's been years since I've built anything other than aircraft or armor and I hope to really give this model  the "works", ie, full wiring and plumbing for starters.  I'd appreciate any input, suggestions or advice.  Thanks in advance, Gary.
