Excellent build. Don't you just wish there were more of these still around in kit form. Awesome job on the base too.

Thanks I didn't add anything to the engine compartment. I glued the hood closed.

I got this kit off e-bay a while back. If I may ask did you do anything to the motor at all as far as detailing? Also what color did you use for the frame? I'm working on the old AMT kit of the Grant King sprint car. I figure these to cars are from about the same era. Any info you can supply will help me out.

Been looking at this thread a couple of times now but never had the chance to sit down and write something.

I think you've made a great looking car and you're right about the wheels. They sure do look like aluminium with that colour.

Excellent work!

Thanks for the compliments, the exhaust is K&S 3/32 aluminum tubing.

Classic with a very cool display. Nice choice of paint and very well done. What kind of tubing did you use for the exhaust ? It appears to be in the correct scale.

Thanks for showing

Thanks guys, It was just a quick build to get me going again. The wheels were painted with Tamiya Silver leaf spray. I think it simulates polished aluminum pretty well.

Hi ya mkhoot ...

Darn ... that is one fine looking vintage Indy Car ... !!!   Your pit wall display is very cool too !

What did you finish the wheels with ... they look like they were machined ... but you mentioned that the kit was mostly OOB ... ???   Thanks a bunch for sharing ... really nice Approve [^]

Monogram kit mostly OOB. Replaced exhaust with tubing.
