Has anyone attempted to make a 1/24 scale steering wheel cover?

The subject line pretty much sums it up.Smile [:)]

I gave it a quick attempt yesterday and it turned out OK for a quick test but I'm wondering if such a thing is even possible with 1/24 scale or if it's just too small to bother trying.  I created an image in Photoshop that resembled a long rectangle with some graphics on it, printed it out, cut it out, and was going to use rubber cement to glue it to the steering wheel.  I thinkI need to trim the edges because it crinkles a bit when I try to flatten it out.  It'll go around the steering wheel no problem but when I fold the edges over it looks kinda bad.  I'm going to try it again tonight when I have more time but was wondering if anyone has successfully made a steering wheel cover?

Several decades ago I did it. Used wire insulation split down the center then wrapped wire around it and the steering wheel. It looked okay. The second one I did I the same thing except I left off the wire wrapping. Instead I pinched the inside with a tweezer while the CA was setting. This gave a half a_ _ed look of stitching. It took forever to do, and once installed it wasn't even noticeable through the opaque windows.

HINT: Heat the wire insulation in hot water before trying to shape it to the wheel. Use a coin or plastic disc to do the initial forming to avoid damaging the steering wheel.
