A question of PE
Posted by BigJim on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 1:00 PM
Looking over some photo etch sets of parts for some 1/24 models, a set appeared to include a complete steering linkage, et al. Now why in the world would someone use some flat PE parts on their models for something that obviously needed to be round?

The same problem applies to PE sets for aircraft.  Pitot tubes, hydraulic lines, etc that are round in real life look sorta funny in flat PE.  It is not TOO noticeable in 1/72 scale, but anything bigger starts to be very noticeable.

It helps to dip it multiple times in either primer or CA. Some 1/43 kits have PE steering wheels!
